Eco-friendly cloths

Nowadays everyone is looking for good clothes according to their ability. Conscious people are not only concerned with the external beauty of clothing. Buyers are likely to call everyone who looks appropriate if there are only a few. Today, we will talk about four clothes that meet almost all the requirements of a conscious buyer.

Cotton

The need for ‘cotton’ or ‘cotton’ is not something new to say. And cotton cloth made of cotton is important to everyone. Everyone, rich and poor, young and old, wants comfortable clothing for everyday use. You can consider no alternative to cotton for this. The problem, however, is that the future of this essential fabric is in jeopardy. Factories that are not environmentally friendly, unsuitable working conditions, and its volatile market are responsible for this. Earlier, the number of irregularities in the production of cotton cloth was more. Unnecessary use of fertilizers, child labor, and non-payment of fair wages to workers became very common.

In protest, in 2005, several organizations tried to save the future of these cotton factories by coming up with some realistic solutions. The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) brings together cotton farmers, traders, and wholesalers to create a conducive environment for cotton production. BCI also teaches how to produce cotton and make cotton cloth without toxic fertilizers or pesticides. This BCI mainly has cotton labeled ‘Global Organic Textile Standard.’ There is no doubt that such organic cotton fabrics will be good for one’s health.

Pineapple leather

‘Leather’ of any fruit or plant means skin made of their leftovers or rotten parts. This type of leather is quite responsive in today’s world. ‘Pinatex’ is one such ‘fruit leather,’ which is used to make pineapple leaves. It originated in the Philippines. This process is usually quite good compared to the techniques that make the leather usable. The production of pineapple leather does not require the use of harmful chemicals as it requires less water.

It makes the tannery safer for the tannery workers. Pineapple leather also produces less carbon dioxide. Moreover, the remaining pineapple leaves can be recycled when the work is done. And if that is not possible, you can use it to produce environmentally friendly fertilizers. That means such a process is good for the environment. Moreover, this leather reduces the demand for cotton, synthetics, and other leathers that are not environmentally friendly. This type of leather is currently being used in London’s first vegan hotel suite.

Wool

Although not all wool or wool farms are standardized, proper use of wool is beneficial for health and the environment. Wool is quite durable, strong, and renewable. Different types of wool are produced. These wools are usually made from the fur of sheep, goats, rabbits, llamas, and yaks. More specifically, wool is produced from the skin of Angora rabbits, Kashmiri goats, Mohars (Angora goats), and Mariners (sheep). These wools differ in terms of durability, softness, and renewability. Winter clothes and carpets are mainly made from these wools. Clothing made of synthetic fabrics does not allow sweat to dry. As a result, the wearer feels hot and uncomfortable.

On the other hand, Woolen garments have tiny pores that help dry out body sweat and retain moisture. In addition, woolen clothes or carpets are fire resistant and water repellent. In this way, these woolen garments last a long time and stay good.

Lyocell and other natural fibers

Washing clothes made of synthetic fibers releases harmful microbes, which are extremely detrimental to health. That is why we need to produce synthetic fibers that are environmentally friendly and good for health. One such fiber is Lyocell. The raw material for this fiber is obtained from the cellulose of the wood.

Its business name is ‘Tensel.’ The water used to make the Lyocell is used in the recycling cut. As a result, water is not wasted. This fiber is environmentally friendly because it does not contain any toxins. An Austrian company is the main contributor to the production process of Lyocell. ‘Hemp’ is another natural fiber, which is also good for the environment. Nowadays, conscious designers try to make clothes with bamboo, cork, or raw materials.
