Quack Quarrels Symonds (QS), a UK-based educational institution, publishes a list of the world’s best universities each year. They publish rankings of universities worldwide based on a total of 11 international standards. QS’s ranking is internationally recognized and the most acceptable. 1. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT):
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is one of Cambridge, USA’s best private technology universities. The University was established on April 10, 1861, in the United States. MIT is a model of polytechnics worldwide, including Europe, which gives more importance to science, engineering and research studies. Also included are Biology, Economics, Linguistics, Management and Social Sciences, and Fine Arts.
Each year a researcher from this University is awarded the Nobel Prize. MIT students and teachers have won a combined 78 Nobel Prizes and 50 National Medals of Science for their work. It is the only University to have a nuclear power plant.
2. Stanford University:
Stanford University is located in California, USA. Stanford University was founded in 1885.
Since there is no Vice-Chancellor in the University, all administrative powers are vested in the President. About 3,000 students from different countries come to Stanford for research every year. Eighty-nine percent of university students get the opportunity to stay. So far, 83 Nobel laureates from this University have been awarded. Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, golf legend Tiger Woods, Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani, former US President John F. Kennedy and many others have studied at Stanford University.
3. Harvard University:
Harvard is another university in the United States famous for its high quality of education and the oldest University. Founded in 1636 on 250 acres of land, the University has a capacity of 22,000 students. Ninety separate libraries, including 23 satellite houses, are one of the ways for students to acquire knowledge. Also, the famous Fog Museum of Art is run from this University.
John Harvard donated nearly half of his fortune (9 779) and a vast collection of books he had made. Harvard University is named after him. This University’s teachers and students have won 158 Nobel laureates, 10 Oscars, 48 Pulitzers, and many more. Hundreds of scientists, philosophers, and artists have learned from here. It was established on March 23, 1868. The University is being run with ten campuses. Of these, 9 are undergraduate and graduate campuses, and one is professional. University of California, Berkeley – just known as Berkeley is one of the best universities in the United States. This University is run with government funding. Besides education, it has a reputation for a liberal attitude. An independent research center has been set up at the Center for Bangladesh Studies. It is the first time a university in the United States has a full and independent research centre for study and research in Bangladesh.
5. Oxford University:
It is the oldest and first University in the English-speaking world. The University of Oxford was founded in the early 12th century in Oxford, England. It is the second oldest University in the world. Studying, teaching, research- this University is famous for everything.

A public university of science and technology located in Zurich, Switzerland. This University was established in 1855. Albert Einstein, the father of physics, was a professor at the University. A total of 21 Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry and Medicine have been awarded.
7. University of Cambridge, UK:
The University was founded in 1209 in Massachusetts in the United States. It is the second oldest English-speaking University. 31 colleges are being run under this University’s supervision. The University also has its publication called Cambridge University Press. The University has a vast well-equipped library of about 15 million books. So far, 90 students have been awarded various prizes, including the Nobel Prize.

Imperial College is a science research institute in the United Kingdom. Prince Albert founded it in London, England, in 1907. The main centre for biomedical research is located at Imperial College. The students of this University have won 14 Nobel Prizes and 2 Fields Medals for their various works.
9. University of Chicago, USA:
The University of Chicago was founded by John D. Rockefeller, a prominent American businessman. It is located across Hyde Park and its surroundings in Chicago, Illinois. Although established in 1890, the University started its first class on October 1, 1892. The students of this University have won many more honors, including 80 Nobel Prizes and 9 Fields Prizes.
10. University College of London:
University College of London is located in London. It is the largest postgraduate institution in the United Kingdom regarding enrollment. Jeremy Bentham founded the University College of London in 1826 as a public research university. Educators of all religions, irrespective of caste or creed, get admission. It is the first University where female students are given more priority. There are 11 departments on the main campus of University College London.
