Which bet is in the Guinness Book of Records?
If you feel bored, try to enjoy yourself with something completely unexpected. For example, bet on something very valuable or important to you. Sometimes a betting controversy even falls into the famous Guinness Book of Records in the “Most…” category.
Of course, in this case, the bet should be original according to the conditions and be one of the issues when applying the editors of the said book. And this means that the bet must be held in advance, with witnesses and documentary records (they can also be a message to the media with a photo or video content on TV and the Internet). These should all be legal because the reputation of the Guinness Book of Records should not suffer misinformation.
But sometimes it happens that the very reality of the bet is so well known in society that no special proof is required – the information obtained from the well-known source is sufficient. Say, from the influential citizens of the society, whose reputation is impeccable.
After such a long acquaintance – an example of their interesting information from the famous book. And the examples needed to be identified only for incredible reasons. These are very hard to believe.
In 2007, something happened in one of Russia’s largest cities that became the property of the media. Strangers (Andrei Karpov and Sergei Broadov) play poker. The game is well known in the society of gentlemen. Andrew wasn’t lucky – he lost in time. At one point, he ran out of money. But Andrei could no longer leave the table as he was puzzled – he wanted to recover. He came up with the idea of putting his wife, Tatiana, at risk, which he did without informing the witnesses of his decision. Sergei accepted the offer because he liked the young woman – they shook hands. At the same time, Andrei said he bet his wife was confident he would not lose her. Sergei will have to pay back all the money if he wins the bet. The last was tragic – another loss. When Tatiana learns that her husband is playing for her, she does not hesitate to file for divorce and then marries Sergei. And this kind of betting event falls in the Guinness Book of Records.
However, betting can bring great wealth, which will literally fall from the sky. More precisely – from the moon. Britain once came to the author of the book Trailfall, wanting to take part in a completely fantastic idea. In this list of national ideas, he saw a line that not a single person would be on the moon in the next ten years. This rate was taken on a scale from one pound to one thousand. Throwfall ten pounds out. That time was very good money. And he won much money; Neil Armstrong was on the moon a year before the bet was over. With the money from the victory, the British bought a beautiful and powerful sports car. But he was not lucky with it – luck was on his side; Trailfall died in a car accident, and it was impossible to drive at high speed.
The sad irony of fate is to win big money and break Sapphire. This is the first time that a Guinness World Record has been reached to lose a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
